By downloading or using Orrery, you agree to these terms. They are meant to be simple and fair.

The app

Orrery is an educational app that presents a cinematic model of the solar system for iPhone and iPad. It is provided for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment and learning.

License

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Orrery on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute, or sell the app or its content, except as allowed by law.

Purchases

Orrery is free to download. Earth and the Moon are fully available at no cost. A single one-time in-app purchase unlocks the whole solar system, including the narrated stories, the Grand Tour, the Cosmic Quiz, and AR. This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It is eligible for Family Sharing.

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payments, refunds, and billing are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Refund requests are managed by Apple, not by us. If you restore a purchase on a new device, use the Restore Purchase option in the About screen.

Educational content

Facts and figures in Orrery are drawn from public NASA resources and are lightly rounded for readability. The app is intended for general education and wonder, not for scientific, navigational, or professional use. We make no warranty that every figure is exact.

Acceptable use

Please use Orrery lawfully and safely. When using AR, stay aware of your surroundings and do not use the app while walking in unsafe areas, driving, or operating machinery.

Intellectual property

The Orrery name, design, artwork, narration, and software are owned by the app's creator. NASA imagery and data are used under NASA's public terms; NASA does not endorse Orrery.

Disclaimer of warranty

Orrery is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted or error free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the creator of Orrery will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the app.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with the date above. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
